Watch Eminem Talk “MMLP 2,” Lyricism, and Rick Rubin with Zane Lowe

One of the most talked about moments in music this year involved an interview between BBC Radio 1′s Zane Lowe and Kanye West. For the first part of the interview Eminem, who is currently celebrating the release of his eighth studio album, acknowledges Kanye’s insta-classic interview and jokes about ways to top it—including urinating on the floor. As the interview goes on, Eminem discusses his musical growth between Recovery and the Marshall Mathers LP 2, his personal thoughts on the Marshall Mathers LP’s place in hip-hop history, and working with Rick Rubin.

not racist but its just clear that we whites dominate hip-hop. Rap is like a mountain… It’s mostly black but at the top is WHITE.

no. let me reword that for you. black people invented hiphop and many other genres in the 20th and 21st centuries that white people now claim as their own (this includes rock)! so at the root of this tree we called hiphop is black, the middle all black… jerk that shit off for a good decade…n what you get? white!
