This Week’s Best EDM, Featuring RL Grime, Plastician, and Mr. Carmack

By @khal for DoAndroidsDance.com

This is the space where I’d speak about this week, but we got kind of turnt up during the Christmas party so most of my words just circulate around needing Advil… and a fried egg sandwich. Enjoy.

BeazyTymes – “Rebel”

Young Beazy released a killer this week. Check the drum work.

Mr. Carmack – “Reputation”

Earlier this week, Carmack’s laptop went missing. Even with a $4000 reward for it’s return from Djemba Djemba, there’s been no sign of it. “Reputation” is the last bit that Carmack bounced from the old laptop, and he decided to give it away for free.

DJ Zinc – Trust Me, I Was There: ’86/’87

Zinc kicked off his “Trust Me, I Was There” mix series, highlighting the biggest records in the clubs and on the radio, in chronological order. His first mix highlights 1986/87, and features ’nuff electro and acid house.

040 – “Let It Be Known”

Joker and Swindle are amazing in separate spaces, but this week they announced that they’ve joined forces as 040, with this massive banger “Let It Be Known” serving as a proper introduction.

Aquadrop vs. Nadastrom – “Favelas (RL Grime Private Pussyy Edit)”

Now this is how you celebrate 100K Facebook followers.

Bot & David Heartbreak – “Ben Hur”

This is a monster. Pure tribal-feeling monster.

Plastician – “Benz”

Bass music is a better realm with Plastician releasing beasts like “Blenz” in it.

Yellow Claw & Yung Felix – “Moortje”

Twerker’s delight.

Saint & G-Buck – “Gijabe”

Been a long time coming for this one; glad Get Right dropped this bouncy number on us.

Let The Machines Do The Work – “Give It Up (VIP Mix)”

There’s something about this tune; grabs a hold and doesn’t let go. Keep your eyes peeled on this group.

Sable – “Feels So Good”

This tune does exactly what it says on the tin.

SwaggleRock presents We Keep It, Vol. 2

We’ve been on that 100BPM sound at DAD for the better part of 2013, from the release of the We Keep It EP. Earlier this week we were proud to drop the second volume, and if you’re not in love the scene already, this EP could change (save) your life.
