Listen to Two Pre-Acid Rap Mixtapes from Chance The Rapper

Chance The Rapper dominated 2013. Chance The Rapper is only 20 years old, and he dominated 2013 with a mixtape. But even before he was rubbing shoulders with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and, most recently, Justin Bieber, it was clear that he was a force to be reckoned with.

Recently, Redditors found old photos and videos of Chance, who went by Chano and was a part of a duo called Instrumentality. These finds included a tender song and video, created as an ode to Chicago, titled “Beddy Bye.” Naturally, the deeper people dug around, the more they found. Now, we have two mixtapes from Chance that pre-date his debut tape 10 Day, and were recorded around the same time that “Beddy Bye” was released. Despite the fact that the overall styles in Back To School Pack and Good Enough differ greatly from that of Acid Rap, Chance proves that he’s always been that introspective rapper, taking his surroundings and using them as inspiration for his lyrics. Check out the two tapes below.

That guy Chance talked about in Good Enough must feel terrible right now. He shouldn’t be. I’m sure Chance improved his skills a lot because of being rejection.

Anyways, despite the mediocre recording quality of these songs, I love ‘em!
