It’s been roughly four years since Kelis last put out an album. But since graduating from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School and launching her own line of sauces, she’s returned to music completely refocused and ready to release a new album aptly titled Food. We heard a first taste of the album with last month’s infectious “Jerk Ribs.” Today, she premieres another new song via Pitchfork from her David Sitek-produced album called “Rumble.” It demonstrates the refreshing new retro direction Kelis has taken to with a powerful horn section and piano melody highlighting her soulful, criminally overlooked vocals.
Stream “Rumble” below. Food will be released April 22 via Ninja Tune.
