Tasmanian producer Akouo’s “Last Time” is a shimmering, head-nod inducing slice of future beat laced with an airy, sparse vocal hook that keeps the song from floating off into the slipstream of noodling Soundcloud production. To augment the pretty pulse of “Last Time,” Akouo conceived a raw video, describing it as:
“The byproduct of strain and neglect from an overactive work life can be poisonous to any relationship, no less a marriage which is what the song is about. The sound of shattering glass heard throughout the song is designed to capture the essence of sorrow, passion, conflict and reflection. And in the video, the main character constructs a glass mosaic which ultimately symbolizes the piecing together of a broken marriage.”
