Ibn Inglor paints a grim picture at the beginning of “Damaged,” a track the Chicago MC released today in collaboration with Nick Acquroff of Sons et al. “My granny’s gone/90 years of wisdom and my granny’s gone/Who’s going next?/My mom? My dad?” He spits.
Laced by a thundering, industrial beat, Inglor’s meditations on mortality are given a bitter and haunting edge. He’s frightened and panicking, and succeeds in relaying that anxiety to his listeners, creating music that keeps you at the end of your seat. Listen to the track below.
“Damaged” will be released on Inglor’s forthcoming mixtape, New Wave 2.
