The follow-up to D’Angelo’s Voodoo is finally on its way, but for those who just can’t wait any longer for some new material, Billboard comes through with this gem. Recorded from his London gig at the Jazz Café in 1995, the R&B king covers Al Green’s “I’m Glad You’re Mine,” and needless to say, it’s as smooth as butter, with the addition of a mighty guitar solo.
The song will appear on a forthcoming album titled Live at the Jazz Café, London: The Complete Show, due March 25. D’Angelo’s third album will be out soon. Listen to the live recording below.
