Combining the worlds of music, Twitter, and apps seemed like a great idea, but it hasn’t been as successful as everyone involved had hoped. The idea behind the Twitter Music app was to make music recommendations based on what friends are listening to and what’s trending, but in a market saturated with recommendation tools, it hasn’t proved to be a worthy endeavor. The app will be deleted on April 18, a year after its launch.
This weekend, Twitter Music made the announcement that they’d shut down the app, but they insist that they will continue to experiment with new ideas. See the announcement below:
