Can Weed Save Classical Music?

Probably not. But the Colorado Symphony Orchestra is going to test the waters with a concert series called Classically Cannabis: The High Note. It’s one of many weed-friendly events popping up in newly legalized Colorado.

The series starts May 23 and treats listeners to “chimchurri, arepas, and the best salty roasted jalapenos.” Guest are asked to “dress to impress for an art gallery setting,” and “NO costumes or thematic clothing is required.” Required, not discouraged. The symphony will tour a number of venues, Red Rocks included.

American symphony orchestras have been dropping like flies—the word crisis is getting thrown around a lot—but if there’s one thing that could save classical music, it’s salty roasted jalapenos and outdoor gardens… on weed.
