Get to Know Lawrence Rothman, Who Is About to Go on Tour With Little Dragon

We love Little Dragon, and, from the sound of “Klapp Klapp” and “Paris” (not to mention the Coachella set), their new album Nabuma Rubberband is going to be great. We also trust Little Dragon’s musical taste—they make good music and have collaborated with Gorillaz, SBTRKT, and DJ Shadow, so they obviously know what’s good.

So, when we found out that an artist named Lawrence Rothman was supporting them on their upcoming tour, we knew we had to investigate further. It turns out that Rothman is someone we should be paying attention to, as he’s combining his deep, powerful baritone with a variety of moody electronic production on the three futuristic R&B tracks he has out.

On top of that, all three songs have powerful, beautiful videos directed by Floria Sigismondi, who has directed video for heavy hitters like Justin Timberlake, The White Stripes, David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Katy Perry, Björk, Fiona Apple, Sigur Rós, Muse, and even Leonard Cohen.

Following the artistic, creative nature of the videos, his performance as opener for Little Dragon will see him take on a different character each night.

You can download “#1 All Time Low” on his Soundcloud here. Tour dates with Little Dragon are below.
