According to TMZ, This is a Video of Solange Physically Assaulting Jay Z in an Elevator

Surveillance footage obtained by TMZ shows a woman in a dress kicking a man in a suit, and according to reports, that woman is Solange and that man is Jay Z. The incident went down at the Standard Hotel in New York during the Met Gala. According to TMZ, the third person in the elevator is Beyoncé, and she stays out of the altercation. A bodyguard broke up the attack before it got taken too far, and there are no reports on what caused the fight. Of course, that isn’t going to stop people from speculating:

Update: Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Solange have issued an official statement on the matter to the Associated Press:

As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family. The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.

  • Confusion

Best way to combat content you hate is to ignore it. We debated whether or not to post this. Decided that it is relevant news and the fact that we were all talking about it was enough to share it. Not trying to be a tabloid, but also not going to ignore something like this, which people with interests similar to ours will want to see for themselves.

It’s not about ad revenue. That’s not how this works. It’s about content that our readers want. If you don’t want to see the video, ignore it.

Confusion, as someone who doesn’t read the tabloids I wouldn’t have found this, and I find it interesting. Props.
