Video Premiere: UNA – “We Are The Lonely”

Los Angeles-based group UNA, a self-proclaimed “ménage à trois of head, heart, and soul,” delivers an outstanding set of visuals for their latest track, “We Are The Lonely.”

Opening on the set of a ’50s film, the video focuses on the cast’s two main characters—a male and female whose romance appears to have spilled offscreen. In tune with the brooding nature of the record, the clip’s storyline unfolds mysteriously as a series of flashbacks sheds light on a problematic backstory. The tension among the group builds gradually as they leave the film set and leads up to a dramatic reveal stirred to life by Jennifer Nice’s haunting vocals.

“We Are The Lonely” is moody—almost macabre—and its cinematic vibe lends itself perfectly to the plot-driven visual treatment. Watch above, and look out for more from UNA.

The Director was actually choking me in the scene. We had to break before I went under. Unfortunately, the driving scenes in the Volvo 1800, famous from Roger Moore’s The Saint, were cut.
