Young Thug Talks Label Status and Upcoming Collaborations with Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne

If you thought Young Thug has had a busy first half of 2014, it sounds like things are only going to get busier in the second. Speaking with MTV on the red carpet for the 2014 BET Awards, Thug stated that he’s got collaborations with both Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj in the works. “I’m gonna do something for my project and [Nicki’s] project because we’re family and it wouldn’t be right if I just did hers, and it won’t be right if she just did mine.” As for Wayne, the two have apparently recorded “a million tracks” together. Well, damn.

The rapper also touched on his current label status in a very Young Thug way, saying he is only signed to YMCMB, despite talk of him signing with Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles’ 300 label. “We signed forever,” he said. “It’s not no 300, it’s not no 100, 250 — whatever you call it, it’s a lifetime warranty, you dig? It’s in and out. Blood in, blood out.”

Young Thug and Birdman also dropped a new video for “Lifestyle” today with Rich Homie Quan. Watch that below, and their interview above.
