“Death Grips is over”

With Death Grips, you never know what’s coming next. After adding festival dates, making new merch, and releasing new music in June, the group has decided to stop everything. Today, they  posted a message on their Facebook page declaring that “Death Grips is over” and explaining that all scheduled live dates are canceled. The note reads:

“we are now at our best and so Death Grips is over. we have officially stopped. all currently scheduled live dates are canceled. our upcoming double album ‘the powers that b’ will still be delivered worldwide later this year via Harvest/Third Worlds Records. Death Grips was and always has been a conceptual art exhibition anchored by sound and vision. above and beyond a ‘band.’ to our truest fans, please stay legend.”

Read the handwritten version below:

RIP, Death Grips.

i respect how they built their fan base and created their own sound, but all the petty shit they do with cancelations and last second shit is just elementary in my opinion. i feel bad for that fanbase, i feel they do’t show any emotion or notion that they appreciate them

  • Dragon In Wagon

Well, I agree with you some what because as a fan it’s tough to see them gone. But they were “a conceptual art exhibition.” How long do you normally see an art exhibition go on for? I think they are doing it right by leaving while they are hot. And I wouldn’t be surprised to see them back together under another project name

  • Zombie Zamboni

sad, i hope they put together some other projects

  • SK

I don’t think he’s talking about them leaving, but the fact that in the past they have no showed at concerts, etc.
