Pigeons and Planes is a place where you can keep up with good new music, whether it be mainstream hip-hop, indie rock, or anything in between. Whether it’s the pop star you see on the magazine covers or the local band you’ve never heard of. The site is updated multiple times every day so check back. We work closely with artists, labels, promoters, and good people who are into good music – check it out and I think you’ll find a unique blend and discover some gems.

The name “Pigeons and Planes” was thought up in a matter of minutes. I like alliteration, and I like pigeons. My idea was to think of two things that were complete opposites, but also had something in common. In this case it is flight. It started off as a simple name with a nice sound, but the name has taken on a lot of meaning. A pigeon is a perfect symbol for the starving artists who are trying to survive in a world that wasn’t meant for them. They’re mostly ignored, mostly unwanted. It’s a tough life, but they thrive, and when it comes time, they take flight.

The planes represent the mainstream artists – well oiled machines associated with major corporations, a global reach to the masses, and serious money. This was the basic idea. I could stretch this on for days and write a whole book about it, but use your imagination. Pigeons and Planes.
