The New York Sound City Showcase 2014 will be taking place on March 17 at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, and you can be there too!

New York Sound City is a spin-off of the internationally renowned Liverpool Sound City Music festival and conference, and sees successful British artists brought to NY to perform, often for their first show in the city. There is a conference portion during the day (find out more here), but we are offering two pairs of tickets to the evening showcase, which starts at 7pm.

Performances will come from raucous rockers PINS and Drenge, but most exciting is the headliner, Skepta, who has been a key part of the UK grime scene for years as part of Boy Better Know. His live show will be action-packed and full of energy, and anyone who doesn’t get grime just needs to experience it live. Skepta says:

The New York Sound City event is gonna be a hype. Grime has been getting a lot love lately in New York so it’ll be good to see what people really know. Definitely gonna drop some new shit off my album in the making. The Knitting Factory sound system better not be a Fisher Price ting.*

Listen to music from Skepta and PINS below. To be in with a chance of winning one of the two pairs of tickets, tweet @PigsAndPlans  and include #NYSC2014. Winners will be picked at random.

*In case you’re confused, Fisher Price sells toys for small children, and Skepta does not want the sound system to be weak
