The Decemberists – We All Raise Our Voices to the Air (Live Songs 04.11-08.11)
We All Raise Our Voices to the Air is the first retrospective collection from the Portland folk-rockers, and it takes the form of a 2xCD live collection. Over the course of six albums The Decemberists have experimented with different styles of folk and rock whilst telling all manner of tales, and these talents are on show in this 20 track deep collection.
Action Bronson & Party Supplies – Blue Chips
As soon as we heard that the New York rapper Action Bronson was teaming up with MPC loving producer Party Supplies we were excited, and the dusty, gritty, fun mixtape is not to be missed.
The Ting Tings – Sounds From Nowheresville
Its been almost 4 years since The Ting Tings released their carefree, and very successful debut album We Started Nothing. Whether its the trouble they’ve had with their label, the pressure of living up to their chart bothering debut, or their stated aim of including a mix of styles, the album is quite frankly a bit of a mess, while the shouty delivery of lead singer Katie White quickly grows tiresome. Props should be given to the band for not simply replicating the formula of their debut, so here’s hoping their next album will see the band more focused and streamlined.
