Lykke Li - "Love Me Like I'm Not Made of Stone"
On "Let it Fall," Lykke Li sings, "Oh, how I love the way tears suit my face."
That was back in 2008 for her debut album Youth Novels. You see, we've always known that Lykke Li has had a thing for sadness. She even had a song called "Sadness is a Blessing," and instead of fighting her feelings, she embraced them and sometimes celebrated them. This was long before Sad Boys and the ironic, goofy glorification of ~feelz~.
On her new album I Never Learn, Lykke Li takes things to new depths. Appropriate for an album inspired by a break-up, every song is somewhere on the sadness scale, but the stripped back and acoustic "Love Me Like I'm Not Made of Stone" is The One.
