Wray - "I Am A Loner"
You can tell from the start that the quavers that open "I Am A Loner" are not happy quavers. They shiver and hum like a stray cat out in the cold, and once Wray's deep, rich, and embittered voice enters the fray, the cold starts to creep into every fiber and filament. It's the song of a love betrayed, and it all comes together in a heartbreaking couplet: "Curtains are twitching, what do they see? I spy you in your kitchen, you’re making her tea." Ouch.
