On Tuesday, August 9th, G-Eazy will be dropping his¬†Endless Summer¬†project with Pigeons and Planes and Mostly Junk Food. We’re really happy to be a part of this one, which is shaping up to be an excellent piece of work from the young New Orleans rapper. The tape has a throwback theme that feels like ice cream parlors, diners, make-out sessions on Shady Lane, drive-ins, and James Dean. Obviously, this isn’t an easy thing to convey through hip-hop, which didn’t even exist in those days, so a lot of it boils down to the samples.

“Runaround Sue” brings out that vintage style via a sample of the 1961 song of the same name by Dion, and the video captures that vibe perfectly. Hit the jump to watch, and look out for Endless Summer on Tuesday…
