No lie, 85% of the stuff that people post on YouTube is complete bullshit. That’s a statistical fact. Back before the Internet was cool, musicians had to hustle their talents on the streets, in subway stations, mall parking lots, etc. Today any tech savvy individual with a video cam and a modem can slather their material all over the world wide web. This, like anything else, has it’s pros and cons.
Passion, Josh Lehman and Daniel De Bourg’s collaboration video covering Drake’s “Trust Issues” is an example of YouTube utilization done correctly. Their cover almost turns this track into a love song, which is a perspective I’d never taken on the original version. Pure talent on their end and impressive work for three cats on the interwebs.
