Robin Pecknold, the magnificently bearded frontman of folksters Fleet Foxes, posted this demo of a new solo song up on Facebook, mentioning that it’s unfinished and was “written in sadsack mode”. Over simple acoustic strumming Robin’s ethereal but somehow also earthy vocals are directed at a lost love, telling the object of his affection that he stills love her, and bemoaning the mistakes he has made. Mr Pecknold also noted that the song “will probably change”, but I can’t imagine why, as it is a truly gorgeous song which benefits from a simplicity and raw immediacy.
