This track goes hard. RL Grime makes difficult-to-classify electronic music, hovering in a gray area between hip-hop and bass music. This particular song, as the name suggests, guns straight for the trap. The essence of the song is heavily indebted to raucous, Southern hip-hop, but here it’s somehow fused with real, hands-in-the-air buildups and drops, as well as the recycled synth line used in LMFAO’s “I’m Sexy and I Know It. So there’s that. It’s hard to really fit this into a genre at all, so the best writeup ends up being the apt title RL Grime came up with himself. Or Confusion‘s responses when I shot it to him a few minutes ago:
