Ghostpoet is a British rapper and producer whose 2011 debut album Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam was full of spacious electronic production and mournful, personal lyrics (check out “Cash And Carry Me Home” or “Us Against Whatever Ever” to get a feel for the album), and now he’s gearing up for the release of his sophomore album, Some Say I So I Say Light. “Meltdown” is thematically similar to much of his previous material, in that it deals with loneliness and relationships gone wrong, but with the addition of vocalist Woodpecker Wooliams and a swelling string section Ghostpoet has refined his already impressive sound.

“Meltdown,” the first single from Some Say I So I Say Lightwill be released May 6.
