British five-piece Phoria dropped “Red” at the beginning of the month, and the subtle electronics and gentle vocals immediately impressed, suggesting the band were well on their way to bigger things, if only their EP could live up to the high standards they had set themselves. Happily, the five track Bloodworks EP, which premiered today on This Is Fake DIY, not only lives up to those standards, but proves that Phoria can craft soaring, unabashedly heartfelt songs just as well as restrained ones. Alongside “Red,” the driving, beautiful “Scopes” is a definite highlight, while the whole EP is definitely worth your time.

Phoria’s Bloodworks EP is out April 29 via Akira Records, listen to it in full below.
