Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes released another track off their upcoming album today. It’s called “This Life,” and features lead singer Alex Ebert baring heart, soul, and everything in between as he lets loose a virtuoso vocal performance. The song draws from wells that should be familiar to the band’s fan base—gospel, Joe Cocker and The Beatles—but the sincerity loosed from Ebert as he admits “this life ain’t for me” is wholly original.

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes release their self-titled third studio album on July 23rd. You can stream “This Life” below
