There’s an exciting progression achieved on “Tears Apart.” Starting off rather minimal by relying on scare instrumentation, the song remains fairly content bubbling there for the first half of the track. But that all changes when a wave of pounding, anthematic percussion is introduced, shifting the track from a seemingly delicate love song to an all out plea of romantic frustration. Leading this transformation though, is Letters To Fiesta’s Anna Etherington, whose vocals reinforce this change and effortlessly depict the feelings of a love that has run its course, culminating in her exasperated, final shouts of “what do you want from me?” Unpolished but wholly charming, it’s her voice that tells the story of “Tears Apart,” drawing you in with each subsequent note. The song will be off a forthcoming EP, stream it below now.
