Two Pigeons & Planes favorites, Sivu and Marika Hackman, combine on this softly mournful song, which sees Sivu moving away from the bigger, bolder pop sound that he was pursuing on “I Lost Myself,” and towards something subtler and more interesting. There is something strangely unsettling about “I Hold,” with its muffled vocals and slowly shifting patterns, and it might just be Sivu’s best song yet.
