MØ’s longstanding affection for ’90s seminal pop group the Spice Girls is no secret. She regularly names the British singers as a massive influence on her music taste as a child, and finally she’s decided to take on one of their songs while in the midst of promoting her debut album. She chose one of the group’s slightly R&B-leaning tracks “Say You’ll Be There,” giving it a more spaced out feel with her breathy vocals adding an airy, light touch consistent with much of the Scandinavian pop we’ve grown to love. She also, thankfully, leaves out that cheesy harmonica breakdown. MØ’S debut album No Mythologies to Follow will be out March 10.
