To say the current R&B landscape is reaching a point of over saturation would be an understatement. For the last three years, the stylistic parameters of the genre have been pushed to their logical extremes and in the process made it hard to keep up with the constant influx of new talent.

The next act seeking to make their mark is JODY, an R&B quintet from Chicago consisting of vocalists Khallee Standberry-Lois, Dave Robertson, and James King, and production duo The-Drum (Jeremiah Meece and Brandon Higginbotham). The hazy alt-R&B production on their new song “Tired” is punctuated by moments of clear and catchy vocals, a perfect mix of experimentation and mass appeal.
