Hannah Diamond is a part of PC Music, a British collective that prides itself on deconstructing pop as commentary on the contemporary music industry.

“Every Night” follows on the heels of “Attachment,” Diamond’s first take of the half-mocking, half-serious brand of sugary pop that turns her vocals into some sort of inhuman transmission from another galaxy. The lyrical content may look conventional on paper (“I want to see you every night”), but it’s almost too peppy, like smiling too hard. The result is still extremely fun. But there’s a shadow lurking behind the synths and claps that belies an intelligence inherent to all of PC Music. Listen to “Every Night” below.
