London’s Ben Khan has a style all his own. It’s a subdued funk: glistening dance production is paired with Khan’s melancholy vocals to create an original, energetic listening experience that never verges towards abrasion.

His latest, “Zenith,” follows on the heels of “1000.” The two tracks are taken from his 1000 EP, due out May 11. “Zenith” finds the young songwriter experimenting with some grittier synths and effected drums, but the funk is still alive and well. He’s a master of the guitar fill, and there are some choice riffs sprinkled throughout. Stream below.
