Leks Rivers became an immediate new favorite back in January when we first heard “When I’m High.” The 20-year-old London producer/singer told us that at that point, he was totally independent and handling all the production and writing himself. With his eclectic range of influences—Stevie Wonder, Jai Paul, Skepta, Jimi Hendrix, Azealia Banks—it was impossible to predict Leks Rivers’ next move, or to predict whether on not he’d be able to match “When I’m High.”

For his latest song “Nubian,” Rivers taps False Ego for the production, and it’s another instant favorite. This one slows things down but keeps the vibe strong with touches of soul, funk, and R&B swirling within another excellently written and delivered song.
