On new single “Daylight.,” Milwaukee’s Vonny Del Fresco showcases a number of the tools you’d hope to have in your kit if you’re dreaming of a career in rap. He has a gift for accessible melody (the sort that invites shower vocalists and the utterly pitch imperfect like myself to sing along), technical ability that verges at times on the virtuosic but never feels showy or impenetrable, and a knack for casual introspection.

“Daylight.” isn’t complete deliverance on potential, rather a window into the growth of a promising young artist from a city that seems like it’s due to bubble over soon.
