Brooklyn-based artist O MER’s new Blind EP isn’t your typical collection of songs. These pieces all bleed into each other like different colors of paint mixing together. “It’s a continuous piece,” the producer/composer explains. “To me it feels like the last few dreams you had before waking up, when things line up in a way that only made sense while dreaming.”
Mostly electronic, flurries of instrumentation and vocals give Blind life. The guitar work on the title track and “Nocturnal Life” feel like sharp, lucid moments within this dreamy soundscape. On “Lunar,” it almost sounds like we’re being prepared to wake up, but then “Wormhole” takes us right back into the dream world.
