Post Malone’s “White Iverson” was an instant favorite with its low key catchy hook and loose, languid verses. As time passed, the song picked up steam, ringing off in clubs and at parties, a veritable underground/online rap anthem. Malone followed it up with “Tear$,” another hazy, partially sung, partially rapped track with a vibe that was at once mournful and boastful.

Now it’s clear, “White Iverson” was no one-off, and Malone is fast carving out his own lane of post-Drake, post-Weeknd sadboy swag rap. Co-produced by FKi, The Makanics, and Justin Mosely, “Too Young” boasts more booming bass and crisp hi-hats, a mesmerizing base for a song about not wanting to die too young.
