I have a playlist on Spotify with the descriptive title “WOOOOO.” I started compiling it (in various incarnations) in 2010 after I heard Rick Ross’ “B.M.F.” and Waka Flocka’s “Hard In Da Paint.” The concept is pretty simple: It’s an ongoing collection of the heaviest, riot-starter rap I can find.
Lamb$ and Shy Glizzy’s “Wonder” is going to make a great addition to “WOOOOO” if it ever finds it’s way to Spotify. It’s thunderous attitude music, money talk executed with entertaining disdain (particularly on Glizzy’s part) and a sneakily catchy chorus over a beat that would have fit perfectly on Flockaveli. This isn’t rap to be pondered and dissected, it’s the sort of visceral trunk rattler that makes my mother question my taste in music and probably my career choices.
As a classic rap adage goes: “Play this at loud volumes, preferably in a residential neighborhood.”
