Getting news about any new music from Lauryn Hill is enough to instantly excite fans who have been waiting years to get new material from her. Within just a few days, Ms. Hill has delivered not one, not two, but three separate Nina Simone covers.

Ahead of the release of the new documentary What Happened, Miss Simone?—which will be available exclusively on Netflix on July 26—several artists have begun to share their takes on Nina Simone classics. Lauryn Hill shared an impressive rendition of “Feeling Good” as well as short clip of her rapping over “Ain’t Got No, I’ve Got No Life”. Now she’s returned with a beautiful cover of “Black Is the Color of My True Love’s Hair.”
