Young Thug’s recent troubles made the prospect of new music a bit unlikely, but last night the Atlanta artist dropped a new song in a major way with “Pacifier.” Barter 6 is a thing of the past; Hy!£UN35, his proper debut, is now on the minds of most hip-hop fans. This first taste of what that project will offer features strong production from Mike Will Made-It, Pierre Ramon Slaughter, Larrance Dopson and Chris “Brody” Brown. Island influences and clamoring rock drums back Thug’s vocal flips. Even with yelps and chirps, the rapper sounds polished here.

Complete with tongue-rolling gibberish, “I Like Ike” allusions, and Miley Cyrus shout-outs, the record doesn’t disappoint. Stream Thug’s lead single below and cop it on iTunes here.
