Manchester, UK singer and producer Tom Walker takes an interesting approach on his debut song, sampling a 1930’s rendition of the work song “I’ll Be So Glad When The Sun Goes Down,” and interpolating the chorus too. There’s a dusty hip-hop bump to the production while Walker’s gritty vocals give this song an old school feel, a nice blend of retro and modern.

“Despite certain aspects changing for the better, many negative aspects still remain in society,” he says. “Even though we think we are free, we are still slaves to society,” Walker says. Listen below.
