Adrian Galvin is an artist in it for the long run. Yoke Lore is the culmination of many creative endeavors—he co-founded Yellerkin in 2013, spent his childhood immersed in painting, photography, and ballet, and is something of a spiritualist, teaching Taoist yoga and between studio sessions.

Case in point: his upcoming EP, Far Shore, features Galvin’s artwork on the cover. But don’t get distracted by the visual craftmanship—we’re here for the audio. “Hold Me Down” is the second song we’ve heard off this release, following on the heels of “Heavy Love.” Galvin’s signature vocals are once again front and center, flanked by some dynamic percussion and guitars that sound like they’re getting the windmill-strum treatment.

It’s an uplifting contrast to the more somber “Heavy Love,” and an indication that this release will be a full scan of Yoke Lore’s musical spectrum. Listen to “Hold Me Down” below, and look out for the Far Shore EP on May 6.
