T.I. is looking to make a big splash with his flashy new single, “Dope.” Produced by Dr. Dre and featuring Marsha Ambrosius, “Dope” features a sample of Aaliyah’s 2001 song “Rock the Boat.” After teasing the music video for the song on Tidal last week, it looks like “Dope” will be receiving the visual treatment sooner rather than later. Taken from his upcoming tenth studio album, Dime Trap, “Dope” is our first taste and is the lead single from the project.

Dime Trap is due sometime later this year and will be released through his own label, Grand Hustle, and will be distributed through Roc Nation. Despite his close relationship with Jay Z and Tidal, T.I. has announced that Dime Trap will not be a Tidal exclusive. T.I. has kept himself busy so far this year, having just released Bankroll Mafia, a posse album featuring himself, Shad Da God, Duke, London Jae, and Young Thug, last month.

No word on who will turn up on T.I.’s upcoming solo project Dime Trap just yet, but if “Dope” is any indication, he’ll be going all out for the full album. Listen to “Dope” below via Spotify, or purchase it on iTunes here.
