Every year, the Adult Swim Singles program comes along and delivers week after week of awesome (free) music from across the world, and across the musical spectrum. This year’s series includes music Run The Jewels, Earl Sweatshirt/KNX, Ryan Hemsworth, D∆WN, Metro Boomin, Vince Staples, and many more, with nine tracks having been released so far.

Today, we’re premiering one of the installment’s from the 2016 program, and this one is from Gary, Indiana producer Jlin. Putting her own spin on footwork, Jlin released an album titled Dark Energy via forward-thinking label Planet Mu last year, and has been touring hard in 2016. With wild vocals samples, frantic energy, and vibrant stabs “Downtown” is Jlin through and through.

“It’s is a track that actually was a happy accident,” she explains. “When I first started to develop it I remember saying to myself that it sounded like something that would be on Adult Swim, and then several years later wallah. I guess I spoke it into existence, though nobody would probably believe me.”

There are 25 Adult Swim Singles tracks coming out this year, and Jlin’s “Downtown” is the tenth to be released. Download them all here.
