M.I.A. recently premiered her new song “Go Off” on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show, and during her appearance, she revealed that her upcoming studio album, A.I.M., will be her last one.
When asked about if the record would actually be her final one, she confirmed that to be the case, but said she’d likely continue to make music in the future: “Yeah, I think so. I wanna go and do some other stuff and take some time out. I’m sure I’ll put music out and make music, but as an album, this just came together after ‘Borders’ and it just seemed like it wrote itself very quickly. I had to just go with it.”
“Go Off” follows the November 2015 release of the politically-charged anthem “Borders.” As for what M.I.A. might get up to once A.I.M. is out of the way, she recently teamed up with H&M to help save the planet.
