The Weeknd has been gearing up to release his third studio album for a while now, employing an expedited release schedule and constantly keeping us anticipating the follow-up to last year's Beauty Behind the Madness. The new album, Starboy, features appearances from Lana Del Rey, Daft Punk, Future, and Kendrick LamarStarboy sees The Weeknd teaming up with Doc McKinney once again, and the album also features production from the likes of Cashmere Cat, Diplo, and Metro Boomin.

Accompanied by a number of exciting videos, including his violent short film Mania, The Weeknd has been honing in on his roughed-up new aesthetic remarkably well. Excluding the three-disc compilation Trilogy, which compiled the trio of mixtapes he put out in 2011, Starboy is The Weeknd's longest project to date. It's definitely a change of pace for the Canadian artist, but it's also a change that works well for him, too.
