New York's A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie had a big 2016. He opened for Drake, got regular radio play, became one of the new breakout stars from NYC, and he's not slowing down. In a new interview with Rap Up TV, A Boogie reveals his plans for 2017.
The young rapper says he's got a project with Atlanta producer Zaytoven in the works (called Artoven, since A Boogie's real name is Artist), some big collaborations on the way, and new music with Drake coming very soon.
"I was driving one day and he hit me up like, 'Yo what's up, it's Drake,'" A Boogie explains. "A few days later I Facetimed him to make sure it was really him and all that. After a while we were texting, talking about music, and he was telling me he liked all my songs. We met up in a few more days in MSG. He hit me up the day before MSG like, 'What's up, you trying to perform?' So of course I say yeah. I wasn't really all the way prepared because I had eight-hour notice. Yeah, you'll see a collaboration if not the end of this year, next year for sure."
