For his first foray into the public, Rotterdam producer Yurrit crafted "Explode," a thesis setting his lithe electronics as a backdrop for British singer Beau Knox's gritty vocals. Yurrit's production feels of a piece with the ethos that typified LuckyMe several years back, hip-hop influence infused with shimmering electronics and ample space for appreciating careful sound design. It's not quite as future-looking as some of the U.K. label's flagship seminal output, but it does have a satisfying bounce and glittery breadth that pull small pieces from boom bap, dub, and electropop with polished flair.
