6LACK has been steadily rising for years, and it all led to his fantastic FREE 6LACK album release last year. The project was one of the year's best, and it also had one of the best covers. FREE 6LACK took 6LACK to a new level, and so far his moves in 2017 have been smart and deliberate, all part of a plan that seems to be leading to superstardom. He performed at a sold-out No Ceilings show in January, joined The Weeknd on tour, and has been linking (and hopefully creating) with other artists such as Gucci Mane, ASAP Rocky, SZA, ASAP Rocky, Chance The Rapper, and Lil Uzi Vert.
Last night, 6LACK took over the stage at The Late Show With Stephen Colbert for a performance of the song "Free," and he also debuted a clean new hair cut. For the first time since his rise into the spotlight, 6LACK's face is fully visible. While we don't want to over analyze a hair cut, it does feel like another step toward embracing the spotlight and opening up to the world as he's done with his music.
