Weird post, but here’s the deal: In the past 24 hours, 3 music blogs that I know of and 8 blogs that I’ve heard about got deleted completely by Blogger. I feel like it’s only a matter of time before I get the boot as well. I put a lot into this blog and if I woke up and the whole thing was gone, I would be, as stupid as it sounds, devastated.

I’ve said it a lot, but I think the time has finally come. I need to switch to WordPress. With the help of some fellow bloggers (Thanks to TheMusicNinja, WAWSTSF, PMA, Tympanogram, PopLibrarian, DatNewCudi, and everyone else who has offered to help) I think I’ll be able to get the site up there soon. It’s a pretty simple process from what I hear, but I promise it will be a stressful, anxiety causing, traumatic experience for me, so keep me in your thoughts.

The good news is WordPress seems to have more features, customizability, and tolerance for music blogs, who often walk a fine line between promotion tools for labels and perceived profit thieves. I think it’s safe to say that most of us just want to share music and talk about it, and we believe that what we are doing is good for the artists, the fans, and ultimately ends up as a new tool for labels to use to push their product and form a strong fan base among the online community before artists even release an album. I’m rambling.

What I was trying to get to, if you’re still reading this, is that I’m going to need to redesign the site. I want to keep things pretty simple and maintain some of the elements I already have. As you may know, I have very limited skills when it comes to stuff like this, so I’m going to need to hire someone. If you have any suggestions, please email me at PigeonsAndPlanes at gmail.
