Wavves’ new album King Of The Beach is good. That’s hard for me to say, because I’ve latched onto the position that I am not a Wavves fan. I’ve thought of the slacker, surfer, skater fuzz rock as one of those hype phenomenons that rides a wavve of success mostly due to a very well defined image/style instead of good song writing or performing. I guess I’m allowed to “change my mind”, but those words sound like quite a task. I’m still not sure, but Wavves has improved dramatically with this album and I’m definitely going to be listening this summer and trying to make up my mind.
